Now, while NC had the lower citadel, I would have said (and did) that IMO NC was superior. I completely agree with everything Lert says, except about having played them. That opinion comes after having played NC, pre-buff Alabama and post-buff Alabama. 4 months after release, Alabama is going to pull in better DPG and WR than NC over the same period. Had she had only her agility to counter the slight advantages NC has in gunnery, she would've been equal. Her less range is only a problem if you plan to snipe from max range. The vast majority of players aren't going to notice 0.1 sigma difference. She's not that much less accurate - in fact, during playtesting I failed to notice an appreciable difference. Her AA is very good - what few DPS she has less at mid range isn't suddenly going to let strike squadrons through that NC would've stopped. She's just fast, but turns considerably better. I thought it was a nice touch and hoped WG would "extend that bug" to the Montana at T10. She was a real cruiser hunter and worthy of being sought after. As such she was squishy vs other BBs, but didn't suffer from the OP fire mechanics. Personally I believe the Iowa was in a good spot when she was bugged for fire/HE damage last year. So getting a premium that one might be tempted to label as "OP" or better :"More powerful then the core line sister-ships" is actually a good thing. With all due respect, the USN BBs aren't exactly in a stellar spot and haven't been in a very, very long time. Not saying the Alabama is going to be OP because of those advantages but it still has some very noticeable things it does better than it's nation tech tree rival with very little trade-off, next to none in fact. So Flamu couldn't recommend the premium unless it had a clear advantage over a tech tree ship? I don't know how I feel about that, it's like he's trying to advocate for more OP premiums.
